In the modern scenario, the quest for a balanced mix of sleek surfaces, crisp, elegant furnishings and top-notch art decor comes to an end at contemporary interior design styles. Earlier, this design scheme had a reputation of being uninviting and mundane. However, things have changed rapidly with the impeccable introduction of warmth and minimalism

Here are seven success stories of modern designers incorporating contemporary interior design styles in modern homes! From cosy country homes to exotic beach houses, these contemporary spaces feature rugged materials, elegant, bold lighting, streamlined furnishings, and even some splashes of colour, creating spaces that never go out of style.

This Los Angeles home project was part of the renovation of collector Chara Schreyer’s abode. This gallery-like home provides an expansive view of the city. Made possible because of the efforts of the architecture firm McRitchie Design and Gary Hutton Design, the room embodies the contemporary interior design.

Decorated and furnished by some of the most prominent professionals the room presents jaw-dropping ambience for people with a sophisticated taste. For example, the family room, has a multipanel collage work by Mark Bradford complemented by one of Donald Judd’s Stack sculptures overlooking the sofa from Piero Lissoni. An angular Council bench, a couple of Poul Kjærholm steel-and-rope chairs from Fritz Hansen, and a B&B Italia cocktail table complete the sophisticated contemporary design.

Another piece, by Michele Oka Doner, rests on the side table, and the colourful ball sculpture from Beat Zoderer add to the aesthetics.
