1. Stylish home design: Karan Desai’s celebration of spaces with colour

Styling apartments and homes with a space constraint is always a challenge. The designers have to zero in on the decor, material and colours strategically without overwhelming the space. This apartment measures around 1500 square feet which made things easier for the Mumbai based designer, Karan Desai.
This 6th-floor apartment in south Mumbai features excellent appreciation for contemporary aesthetics and plays with a plethora of colours. The living room had one problem though; the extended narrow scheme of this space resembled a train bogie more than the typical expansive living room. There was no option to resize the areas as the walls all around were mainly of RCC.
At this point, Karan had to come up with a scheme that would compartmentalise the functions of different spaces without physical separation. On top of this, the aesthetics of each room should stay separate to maintain their identity.

Strategically dividing the spaces in shades of blue, Karan was able to create a bold yet understated, a stylish home design for this south Mumbai apartment! The house now presents a sweet balance in good looks and innovative functionality!
2. Sweet minimalism from ns* a architecture
The design brief involved creating a warm and cosy home for a family of three that presents large and airy spaces and presents a clutter-free design. Shruti Jalan and Neesha Alwani of ns*a architecture and interiors mention took over this renovation project.

The existing architecture layout focused mainly on utility instead of living. Additionally, the windows were small and restricted the view to the outdoors significantly. The clients wanted to curb the clutter in their home- visual and physical and wanted a functional design that goes with their lifestyle needs.

The ns*a Architecture and interiors worked together to open up the spaces to the outside and focused on creating a cosy, minimal home with a timeless appeal. In the end, the design scheme presents a warm aesthetically pleasing interior design that encourages outdoor connection without compromising on the privacy.
3. Experiencing New York in South Mumbai: Bachelor pad design from Jason Wadhwani
Working on a 4200 sq feet apartment in one of the Mumbai skyscraper, Jason Wadhwani from Jason Wadhwani Design Studio created a compelling bachelor pad.

Designing for a client who has spent most of his life in NYC, Jason worked for instilling a New York penthouse appeal in the aesthetics of this home. Space needed a touch of entertainment without overwhelming the serene ambience.
Keeping this in mind, Jason added a lot of spaces like the bar and living room for people to socialise. Additionally, a couple of outdoor decks further accentuate this purpose and ensure a design that goes in sync with the owner’s lifestyle needs!
